Wanderer and Smiler are verified; the rest of the roster is still being matched

A current walkthrough supplies two readable shop names. Official Roblox art shows more monsters, but it does not publish their stats, permanent prices, range, or catch rate.

Quick answer

Start with Wanderer, place it on a maze cell, then compare the same route.

Smiler is also visible in the current shop recording. The full roster and a strongest-monster ranking need clearer names and comparable tests.
  1. 1Get Wanderer from Monsters
  2. 2Return Home and place it on a built cell
  3. 3Record the live result before changing the route

What the current Monsters shop actually shows

Community walkthrough footage reviewed August 5, 2026; prices are intentionally omitted because they can change.

Tutorial monster

Wanderer

Listed as Common in the recording. The tutorial puts it in the hotbar and tells the player to place it on a maze cell.

Shop row

Smiler

Also listed as Common in the recording. Its long-term price, strength, and unlock order are not established by one shop view.

Compare fairly

One route, one monster change

1

Hold the route

Do not rebuild the branch while comparing monsters. Keep visitor access as similar as possible.

2

Record the live card

Write the name, price, and any visible description in your current server.

3

Watch the result

Use the same observer point and note whether visitors reach the placement and what happens next.

Still needed

What a real tier list would require

A defensible ranking needs current names, unlock requirements, live prices, placement constraints, behavior, and repeated results on comparable visitor routes. Wanderer and Smiler are a start, not a full tier list. Until the rest exists, a visual roster and a test log are more useful than copied S/A/B labels.

FAQ

Monster questions

What monsters are in Build Your Backrooms?

Wanderer and Smiler are readable in the current Monsters shop walkthrough. Official art shows more appearances, but their exact live names are not yet verified.

What is the first monster?

The current tutorial uses Wanderer and guides the player to place it on a maze cell.

What is the strongest monster?

No complete current stat table or comparable route test supports a strongest-monster ranking. Compare the same visitor route before trusting a tier list.

Are all official-image monsters named?

No. Similar Backrooms appearances are not enough to assign an exact-game name. Use the live Monsters shop card.
